Frustrations
This week was a continuation of a couple of weeks of disappointments. Nothing is working and sometimes I kind of feel insulted but I won’t go into that.
I’m still working on trying to distribute the Power BI report and I finally got it on Sharepoint – my access became more permanent, more or less. We had a meeting with a guy who was supposed to be a pro at Power BI because he was creating beautiful stuff with it. One of the questions we asked was if he was able to get others who did not have the Pro license to see his creations.
And he said yes. He did it by embedding his report to Sharepoint.
Well, I had tried that earlier and it didn’t work. Then I asked if he had to give permission to his Sharepoint page and he said yes.
So, I went back and tried that and it still didn’t work.
Finally, after much back and forth on Microsoft Teams, it turned out that the other person with whom he shared his creation had a temporary Pro license.
Okay, back to square one.
This whole inability to show your creation really defeats the purpose of structure of Power BI which was designed for mobile viewing rather than paper. Why? Why even bother if no one can see it? If a tree falls in a forest, does anybody ever hear it? Does anybody care?
Seriously, how can one generate interest in Power BI if the others cannot see it?
I’m about out of ideas.
