Oh, s**t.

Okay, I gotta admit, I’m terribly anxious and scared. The world has become a very, very dark place.

The weekend before the hacking of my website, I wrote a post that posed a: “what if” after the President says that everything is going to be alright, clusters of infections pop up. I think we’re starting to see this. That post was on 2/22/2020, roughly 3 weeks ago, and this week we have the stock market swooning like it was 2008 (or maybe worse) and the administration seemingly unable to come up with a calming solution. On February 22, we might have been at 22 confirmed cases, and on March 11, it was around 1200. I have read that the doubling is around 4 to 7 weeks or 1 to 1.5 month. (Okay going from 22 to 1200 is way more than doubling in roughly 3 weeks, but then we don’t have testing quite built up – maybe that’s the discrepancy.) Confirmed cases are growing and has almost touched every state. We have the health officials saying “it’s going to get worse” and “we don’t have the capacity or materials for a surge of cases”, but the President is saying it will go away, April and warm weather is almost here. Fox News, Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh are saying the whole media concern is fake news or a hoax to take down the President.

Sorry, but I’m going to listen to the health experts, not the pundits. Those pundits have no credibility. Tucker Carlson is the only conservative, that I know of, who is speaking the truth when he says this virus threat is real.

The most puzzling thing is the failure of the CDC to get us prepared. I’m having a hard time wrapping my mind around their failure. Other countries have been able to get their testing ramped up to 10,000 a day but we can’t even do much testing here? We have the highest medical costs and where has all that money gone? Something doesn’t compute. A writer mentioned having the same problem grappling with CDC’s failure and says he can’t help think that the administration has politicized the CDC. In other words, he can’t help thinking there is a political hack at the top trying to protect the President or kowtowing to the administration to make the image look good rather than do the medical prep work that needs to be done.

I have to say, I sometimes wonder if that is what is going on. But we don’t know because the administration’s meetings on the coronavirus is CLASSIFIED, per Reuters. (OMG! Are you kidding me?)

And, there is a curious phenomenon where those who lean Republican or conservative view this coronavirus threat as being blown out of proportion whereas the Democrats or liberals (not all) believe that the threat is real and are very concerned.

The medical scientists, especially those who deal with this, are very concerned, so why aren’t the conservatives feeling the same way?

The US is so upside down, so crazy. I wish I could just go away somewhere and do a Rip Van Wrinkle for a year. After a year, wake up and check to see if it’s okay to come out.
