Thanksgiving Message
At work I received a beautiful Thanksgiving message that I think straddles the left-right divide on immigration. The author expresses thankfulness that we have it good in America and that we don’t have to immigrate in search of food, shelter or safety. Let’s hope it stays that way.
In case the image looks grainy on the screen, here’s a rendition of the message:
“We have much to be thankful for, even when it might seem like we do not. Just look around the world to see how well off we are in this county; look at the borders where thousands of people try to get out of their poorly run and impoverished countries just to have a chance to live in peace and have an opportunity for a better life, look at countries where the availability of even basic food and water is a real concern or where constant war has destroyed everything around them. So while it may seem there are many things wrong or that need improvement, there are many things right in the United States. We should be Thankful and never take what we have for granted.”
