Managers' Conference 2018

Been Away at Managers’ Conference

Managers' Conference 2018

I’m back. I’ve been away at a Managers’ Conference and had no access. And, for about a week before leaving, I was preparing for it, and I also had problems with the WordPress site. Or maybe it’s my machine. Ever since I installed the Gutenberg plug-in I’ve had problems with this site’s administrative page or this machine. My internet access would die after some period of time, making it difficult to complete a post. I usually would have to turn off the machine, wait a while, then log back in and finish the post. One time I tried doing just internet work without ever going to the WordPress administrative page and my internet access seemed to last a while. So the problem might be the WordPress Administrative site.

Anyway, the Managers’ Conference was interesting and fun. The conference included some training for managers to bring back to their place of work and it’s a good way of building teams and networking. The Conference is also a way of giving the managers a good time and thanking them for their hard work.

This year’s training included topics on accounting type materials such as Purchase Orders, customer service and social media. The young lady who talked about the accounting topic was actually a fill in because the original speaker had to bow out of the conference, so the fill in did a good job, considering she did not develop the materials. To add insult, the conference room’s projector was not working so we had to call in the tech guy which interrupted the training for a while. The presenter went with the flow though and handled it well, despite all of the problems thrown at her. I liked the social media one, especially about Canva. I occasionally use Canva and love that site. I do wonder how they make money though – it can’t be easy.

But the most interesting topic was the rebranding of our company’s brand. The logo has undergone a makeover to bring it to the modern age, which I’m glad. The other logo was kind of fuddy duddy, but it probably was good for the ‘80’s when the company was just starting out and had to present a solid and trustworthy image. But now it’s been brought up to the modern era with its logo name being shortened and brighter colors being added instead of just blue. I would show the new logo but I don’t think it’s ready to be publicly shown since I don’t see the new website as being ready yet. I don’t want to show it before it gets announced to the outside world. But here’s the old logo.

Asset Plus Old LogoAnyway I’m back and very exhausted.
