Climate Change 3
I just don’t get the climate change deniers. The latest fires, on top of the two hurricanes over the summer (Florence and Michael) with their devastating floods and winds, just scream that there is something wrong with the climate. They can no longer say that “there is nothing to see here”.
Southeast Asia, China and India, countries that are just climbing out of poverty, can probably say that trying to scale back on fossil fuel consumption would adversely impact their economy, but they are trying to do something. America, on the other hand, is a wealthy country with no excuse. Even those miners in coal country acknowledge that there is something going on, but we all agree (I think) that we have to help those miners find an alternative. But the wealthy ones – corporate executives and investors – they have no excuse.
They just can’t say there is nothing going on with the weather.
