Finally, he’s going to be 6 feet under
Hallelujah! The hated man is gone. Maybe this event will lead to a change in Gaza-Israel war negotiations. The Palestinians and Israelis hostages definitely need it.
The death and destruction have been extremely high in Gaza so I would love to see a ceasefire with a hope for negotiations toward a two-state solution, if that is possible.
Initial statements from Israel indicate no but I’m hoping the Gazans will realize that for the sake of the population, a negotiation on how to release the hostages, on finalizing conditions for ceasefire, and on the opening talks for two state solution.
All of that death and destruction has to lead to some kind of solution for the Palestinians; if not, what a waste! I hope the Palestinians rethink their attitude towards the Israelis because if they want peace and a chance for a two-state solution, they need to reassure the Israelis that they are not out to destroy them.
In turn, the far-right Israelis have to go. They are not helping the situation. As a matter of fact, I think they lend the Israelis a bad name with their intransigence in their treatment of the Palestinians.
Right now, it doesn’t look like peace is on the table because the Hezbollah and the Iranians are still broadcasting aggressive stances towards Israelis. But if movement towards peace starts in Gaza, maybe the atmosphere will simmer down in Lebanon and Iran.
Because the civilians in Lebanon do not deserve the same fate as the Gazans. (The Gazans didn’t deserve it either; only the Hamas deserved the decimation of their leadership.)
