Inside Job?
Everyday there seems to be more scary news or conspiracies floating around. A few posts ago, I wrote that international security experts said the insurrection had law enforcement help because certain standard security measures for when protests are known beforehand were not implemented. Someone made a conscious effort to “stand down”.
Now, there are news stories about a possible inside job in the Congress, meaning one or more Representatives or Senators were involved in the coup attempt.
Wow. Just wow.
One news story talks about Ayanna Pressley and her staff claiming when they tried pushing the panic buttons in their office, they found that the buttons have been completely removed. If that is true, and it has to be investigated and proven true, then someone deliberately placed their lives in danger.
Another Congresswoman said that the day before the seditious riots, someone was giving tours in the building, almost like reconnaissance tours. Again, this story has to be investigated and proven, so I don’t know what the reality is, but Capitol has not been having tours since March 2020 due to the pandemic so that raises suspicions.
And then there is a guy, Ali Alexander, who formed and led the “Stop the Steal” rally: he said that three Congressmen helped him organize the rally. Again, this alone is not enough to imply nefarious motives; we need more facts.
All of this is depressing. If all of this is true, then quite possibly people were actually trying to overturn the valid results of the election and disenfranchise 80 million plus voters. The courts, including those with Trump appointed judges, have tried to find evidence of fraud and couldn’t. No fraud has been found, despite 60 cases; thus, the storming of the Capitol amounts to an insurrection.
The rioters who were inside the Capitol basically became domestic terrorists. They include average mostly white Americans: lawyers, lawmakers, policemen, firemen, real estate agents, CEO, etc.
They wrap themselves in the flags of patriotism and talk about saving America, but they completely misunderstand the meaning of patriotism and why 1776 revolution does not apply.
