SpaceX IPO
SpaceX went public on 6/12/2026 and Elon Mush was for a short period of time a trillionaire.
It does make me wonder what kind of world we live in where a horrible person can be the most powerful and the wealthiest person on the planet. I even wonder, “did he really earn that trillion dollars?”
Why I think he is terrible
Here’s a why I say he’s a horrible person:
- He thinks it’s funny to do that specific thrusting arm motion and say it’s not a Nazi salute when it sure darn well looks like it.
- He said that workers should work the Chinese 9-9-6 hours (9 am to 9 pm, 6 days a week) when he has admitted that working such excessive hours will affect one’s thinking capability. He has once said that such hours make him go crazy in his decision-making.
- He once baselessly called a caving diver a pedophile without providing proof – all because he got hurt that the diver would not accept his help.
- He was head of the infamous DOGE cost cutting group that did immense damage to the government and caused a lot of pain. The most prominent was the cutting of USAID. It is said that millions of people have died since the aid was cut. Lately, people have been laying the responsibility of those people’s death at Elon’s feet. Though, that has to be proven.
- As head of DOGE, it is speculated that he closed down agencies that were investigating him and his companies, maybe for ethical lapse or for employment tactics or something.
- He has been collaborating with the European fascists groups such as the Nazis. Not a good look there.
- And he has been interfering with either Ireland or Scotland, riling up some people’s anger over immigration. I think it’s Ireland where anti-immigration protesters have been setting fires to immigrants’ homes. The news claims Elon has been influencing the situation through social media.
- From what I could tell, his management of the Twitter takeover did not appear to be that of a good manager or leader. From the outside it looked like the takeover was chaotic and cruel and it sounds like Twitter has become a cesspool (I’m not on Twitter so I’m depending on other observers).
- He rolled Grok into Twitter and then rolled them into SpaceX. That sounds like a shell game, not grand innovation or strategy.
- From his track record at Twitter, I wonder how in the world did he become known as a visionary innovator? I hear stories that he actually takes over from the real innovators/inventors in the company and places himself as the face of the new innovation. I have a theory that he tried to do the same at OpenAI and he failed there. Sam Altman bested him in that political battle. (And Sam Altman may not be a good guy either.)
- He often makes promises to have a new cool product by a certain date, but every time the date passes, we hear crickets. It is almost like he is promising something that will never happen or at least not for a long time. False promises = lies.
Based upon the last four bullet points, I have a hard time believing that he has really earned those trillion dollars.
But this is where we are.
And the shareholders…who are they that they accept his bad boy behaviors? They are missing the ethics and morality gene.
Basic charts
Before I wrap up, there are some stock charts that I pulled.
One is Tesla and it looks like the stock has recovered, despite the DOGE imbroglio and his ongoing bad behavior. I’m using Excel’s STOCKHISTORY function.
Yeah, since March of 2025, he has recovered nicely.
Here’s SpaceX, the newest entrant into the stock market. Now, I googled this information because STOCKHISTORY could not pull the data itself. The service providing that service has not caught up yet.
You can see the initial bump up to around $220 and now it’s hovering around $153. I think the initial offering was $135. Tesla is closing on $436.
I have to take back what I said before
STOCKHISTORY is now working although my daily graph does not look like the image above.
