The sun is setting on America
There is not a whole lot to say. As we all keep hearing, while we have 4 or 5% of the world's population, we have about 25% of the world's infection cases and deaths. We are supposed to have the world's best doctors but we have these high rates. That's because a lot of Americans don't believe or listen to the doctors and scientists. It's because a lot of Americans don't have the internal fortitude to do the hard work of wearing masks or do social distancing.
You want America to be great? Then it begins with each and every one of us making good decisions and corralling the discipline to do the hard work. It's not the leaders that make the country great; it's US but we have to do the right thing, make the right choices, be unselfish.
While we head into rising infections and possibly rising deaths, our European allies (remember them?) will be slowly moving back to normal with an economy not quite as ravaged. While we chose Republicans who are not inclined to afford us safety nets, the Europeans have helped out their own people.
So they don't have the unemployment that we have and thus will be starting from a better position. As we sink into crisis, (economic, health and racial), they watch us from afar, wondering what happened to us.
With those thoughts in mind, have a great fourth of July!
